Bumble Bee Issues Recall On Cans Of Tuna

Bumble Bee Foods LLC, a privately held company in San Diego, is recalling its five-ounce cans of chunk white albacore tuna because some can seals may not be on it tightly.

Loose seals allow pathogens to seep in and cause the tuna to spoil, which would cause the consumer to get sick. To date, there have been no reports of illness related to the issue.

The cans were sent around the nation between Jan. 17 and Feb. 28. They have a “best by” date of Jan. 16 through Jan. 18, 2016.

The brands being recalled include Bumble Bee and Brunswick’s five-ounce cans of chunk light tuna in both vegetable oil and water and chunk white albacore in water.

Any consumers who have bought these recalled cans can get in touch with Bumble Bee to attain their money back and throw the can away.
