Avengers Movie Breaks Records
The Marvel Comics based movie “The Avengers” has broken records across the boards at the box office. Not only that but it has proven that the comic book format is just what Hollywood’s box office ordered.
The movie that stars several of the superheroes from the Marvel pantheon such as Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Hulk has brought a smashing $200 million U.S. Box office take and a $500 plus million world take and it even hasn’t opened in Japan yet.
The movie rolled into theaters over the past week first in foreign theaters and then in the U.S.. None of the experts expected the movie to make this much money so quickly. Hollywood is abuzz and is rushing around waiting for the following week’s effect. With over $600 plus million already in ticket sales, it has blown over the speculators and is setting record books. The affect on Wall St. will be seen soon, if any, or perhaps in days to come. This is a big game changer in the field of cinema worldwide and cements the Marvel franchise as not only legitimate but a monster of a money maker.
There are lots of franchises out there but nothing like Marvel Comics. This company has thousands of characters who’ve yet to hit the big screen. It took decades for the special effects companies to match the storytellling of the Marvel Comics books.
The expanse of Marvel now means more televisions shows, more licensing and far more influence over Hollywood. There will be no more teasing those geek comic book fans anymore as there are three more comic book based movies ready to hit the silver screen this Summer. There is “Batman: The Dark Knight Rises”, “The Amazing Spider-Man”, and “Men In Black 3”.
