U.S. President Officially Endorses Former Secretary Of State For Presidency

Washington Democrats took huge leaps in uniting the party when Bernie Sanders said he’d work in conjunction with Hillary Clinton to defeat Republication presidential nominee Donald Trump in the November elections.

On Jun. 9, President Barack Obama officially endorsed the former New York state senator and secretary of state for president.

Although Sanders has made this decision, he will continue his bid for the White House even though Clinton became the Democratic presumptive presidential nominee. This decision has Democrats working on tactics that will help Clinton to defeat Trump.

On Thursday, Sanders promised to work with Clinton to fight against the Republicans to win the White House. This promise was to ensure Democrats don’t feel there are any party divisions.

Sanders met with the president, in a meeting that went beyond an hour. Sanders said Trump becoming president would be a huge disaster and that he’d worked hard to ensure that the billionaire wouldn’t be the next president of the U.S.

Sanders said he looks forward to getting together with Clinton to find out how they can work to overcome the possibility of a Trump presidency. Sanders praised by Obama and the vice president for being impartial during the Democratic campaign, saying the pair kept their word about not putting their two-cents in. He said he was most appreciative for it.

After the meeting with Sanders, Obama released a public statement in video where he officially endorsed Clinton, as she becomes the first woman to win a well-known party’s presidential nomination. Obama will be joining the former secretary of state for the first time next week when she’s in Wisconsin.

Obama said Clinton is highly-qualified to become president of the U.S. Obama defeated Clinton eight years ago for the presidency, becoming the first African-American to hold the office.

Obama thanked Sanders for his amazing campaign and being a spotlight for various issues include economic inequality and the influence money has on politics.
