Gas prices fall for the 4th of July weekend.

CHICAGO – AAA is reporting that highway travel is expected to be higher this upcoming holiday weekend than last year. Over 35 million people are expected to hit the roads.

The fourth of July continues to be the busiest travel weekend of the year, as child are out of school and the weather is normally ideal.

The airlines love this holiday weekend as 1.56 million are expected to hit the skies, up 8.2 from last year.

Gas prices will be about the same as they were last year. On Wednesday crude oil fell on the New York Mercantile Exchange by 31 cents to $75.63 a barrel.

Average spending is $944 a family of four. The distance traveled over the holiday weekend is expected to average 617 miles. Remember, the roads will be busy so leave yourself plenty of time to get to your destination and drive safely.
