ConAgra Issues Recall Of “Healthy Choice Chicken with Rice” Microwavable Bowls

A nationwide recall of the Healthy Choice Chicken with Rice soup from ConAgra has been issued by the Food and Safety Inspection Service of the U.S Department of Agriculture.

According to officials, the recall of nearly 55,000 pounds of chicken noodle soup products is due to undeclared allergens and mislabelling.

The product consists of eggs and wheat, but the microwaveable soup bowls do not make mention of these allergens on the labels.

The recalled product affected is:

  • 14-oz. “Healthy Choice Chicken with Rice” microwaveable bowl with a “Best By Date of June 09, 2015” and has an establishment number of P-770.

The affected products were produced on Dec. 16, 2013 and shipped to stores around the nation as well as a Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Dominican Republic.

Consumers were the ones to report the problem after they found chicken noodle soup in the misbranded bowls. Both ConAgra and FSIS have not received any reports of negative reactions from people consuming the soup but anybody who is concerned about the issue should get in touch with their physician.

Questions about the recall can be made to 1-800-289-6014 (ConAgra hotline).
