Chris Brown’s Attorneys Issues Statement On Latest Legal Issue For Singer

The lawyer for singer Chris Brown addressed his client’s arrest on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon while at his home in Los Angeles.

Mark Geragos, Brown’s attorney, disputed many claims the accuser Baylee Curran made, calling them “fabricated.”

Curran, 25, spoke to “Good Morning America” after the incident and said she was a guest at the singer’s home when the incident occurred. She alleges Brown pointed a gun at her face, furious because she gave compliments to another man about his jewelry. The model said she was scared during the ordeal and believed Brown would shoot her.

Geragos said the model gave a good deal of information about the jewelry that caused all the attention. He said there was nothing in Brown’s home that matched the description even after an extensive search by the Los Angeles Police Department.

Geragos said police found no guns in the home, and there was no mention of drugs either. The attorney said reports that Brown was arrested after a 14-hour standoff with the police are not true. He said it wasn’t a standoff. Geragos said he told Brown to wait inside the home until he’d gotten there since police had no search or arrest warrant at that time.

Brown, while in his home, did post to social media to maintain his innocence, saying the police are going to walk into the home and find nothing.

Police have made no remarks about the matter but did say Brown was cooperative.

The singer’s court date has been set for Sept. 20 where he will enter his plea.
