MISSOURI – Clyde Smith is an adorable 77-year-old Wal-Mart employee with 9,000 Facebook friends.
Smith, or “Grandpa” is what customers call him as he greets them at their Wal-Mart store in Sedalia, Missouri.
Mackenzie Westpal, a 7th grader created a Facebook fan page dedicated to the man. She says he brings a smile and bright attitude to work each day.
People leave comments on the Facebook page all day long, including comments like “There should be more people greeters in all Walmarts like you! Wish you worked at my Walmart!” says Candice M Carlson
Walmart Manager Dan Rodenbaugh says, “He Always takes interest in the teenagers coming through, asks them how school is, is everything going all right. And I think that’s a big key. He’s showing some interest.”
