$1 bills Snow Down On Mall Of America Patrons

A Minnesota man who dropped a $1,000 in $1 bills on the crowds in the Mall of America on Black Friday has been charged with disorderly conduct.

Serge Vorobyov, 29, dropped the money from the Mall of America’s fourth floor while the choir was singing, “Let It Snow”.  Vorobyov said he was attempting to make other people happy, although officials said he was being disruptive.  He said he was having a rough year – going through a divorce with his wife, losing his job and his cat.

On a YouTube vlog, Vorobyov said he went through a bad divorce, where his wife took the cat and won’t even tell him where the cat is. He said he just wanted to share some holiday cheer with folks such as paying it forward.

After he released the money, Vorobyov was arrested and given a disorderly conduct charge, with the assertion that somebody could have gotten hurt. He was also has a one year ban from the mall.

Sarah Schmidt, a spokeswoman for the Mall of America, said this incident was a first for anything like this to happen.
